Failure to provide proof of this wellness check within the specified timeframe will nullify the health guarantee.
In the unfortunate event that a kitten passes away due to genetic reasons within the first year of life, specific steps must be followed to make a claim. The owner should promptly contact the breeder, have a veterinarian conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, and provide the autopsy report.
The breeder will then work with the owner to replace the kitten with a similar one if available. If not, options include selecting a kitten from a future litter or a different breeding. Monetary refunds are not offered in such cases.
The breeder guarantees that the kitten is in good health and free from internal or external parasites at the time of purchase, unless stated otherwise in writing. The buyer is obligated to have the cat examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of purchase, and any abnormalities or concerns should be reported to the breeder with a written report from the veterinarian.
The genetic health of the cat is guaranteed for one year, and the breeder will replace the cat if it dies from a genetic illness within that period, provided an associated necropsy report is provided. It is important to note that Purebred Sphynx Cattery cannot be held responsible for the overall health of the cat beyond the initial 48-hour period.
Furthermore, the contract specifies that the cat/kitten has received appropriate vaccinations and the buyer will receive a detailed record of all veterinary services provided. The breeder recommends against the FIP vaccine and advises following the licensed veterinarian’s recommendation for the Feline Leukemia vaccine.
Spaying/neutering is also strongly encouraged between 4 and 6 months of age, with the buyer agreeing to this condition and discussing it with their veterinarian.
